Since joining the United Nations in 1955, Nepal has served as a steadfast pillar of multilateralism and collective security. Anchored in its constitutional commitment to non-alignment, international law, and peaceful coexistence, the nation’s foreign policy aligns closely with the principles of the UN Charter.
Most prominently, Nepal stands as one of the world's leading contributors of personnel to UN Peacekeeping Operations. Deploying thousands of military and police personnel to high-risk conflict zones globally, Nepali peacekeepers advance stabilization, civilian protection, and post-conflict peacebuilding. Additionally, as a Landlocked Developing Country (LLDC), Nepal actively advocates for climate justice, sustainable development, and equitable global governance on multilateral platforms.
